RICHARD WAGNER - TRISTAN UND ISOLDE - 1865
Searching the forgotten sonority of the shipstune in Richard Wagner's 'Tristan und Isolde' Act III.
NEW DEVELOPED WAGNER TRUMPET AVAILABLE
Facilitated and commissioned by Opera Ballet Vlaanderen for the performance of ‘Tristan und Isolde’ during the season 2023.
The project started on the initial idea of the opera’s first trumpeter Serge Rigaumont, who was interested in Wagner's search for the right sonority of the signal that announces the arrival of Isolde's ship.
Instrument makers Gunther Cogen (natural trumpets) and Daniël Vernooij (historical woodwind) developed, produced and presented their Tristan Holztrompete, which sounded during the entire performance cycle.
First trumpeters ever performed on this new built instrument: Sander Kintaert and Steven Bossuyt.
